Hello. My name is Susumu Eguchi and I am the professor and chairman in charge of the Surgery (Second Department) at Nagasaki University Hospital. In our department, I am supervising all gastrointestinal surgeries (esophagus, stomach, intestines, colon, anus, liver, bladder, bile duct, pancreas, etc.), endocrine surgery (breast, thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, etc.), pediatric surgery and transplantation.

Specifically, we are heavily involved in working on endoscopic surgery that is friendly on patients (GI and HPB surgery through small incisions using thoracoscopy and laparoscopy) and advanced transplant surgery (deceased donor, live-donor liver transplant, pancreatic islet cell transplant, etc.). Meanwhile, we also regularly carry out careful examinations of so-called general surgeries (peritonitis, intestinal obstruction, appendicitis, hernia, abdominal hernia, hemorrhoids, etc.).
