Our laboratory has been established to carry out basic and translational research in surgical oncology and organ transplantation using animal models and regenerated organs.

Surgical Oncology: Basic research
・ Signal pathways in cancer cell lines; regulation of epidermal growth factor signals and 5-FU related enzymes
・ Radiation sensitizer for human malignant mesothelioma, pancreatic cancer, and sarcoma

Bio-3D-printing technology; scaffold-free cylindrical organs have been created including trachea, esophagus, and intestine
Regeneration of the lung and trachea consisted from decellularized scaffolds and epithelial, endothelial and stem cells in rat and swine models

Medical Engineering: Medical devices
Surgical instruments; endoscopic instruments, devices to assist organ transplantation, bio/nano- materials for prevention of surgical infection.
